Mrs. Grant Earns State Choir Director Award

A pair of NISD choir directors were recognized at the state level recently when they won awards at the Texas Choral Directors Association (TCDA) Annual Summer Convention. Ashley Grant (right in photo) and Emily Fry (left in photo) joined an elite group of award winners from around the state that were honored at the association’s convention in San Antonio last weekend.

Grant, head choir director at Adams Middle School, earned the Young Director of Distinction Award which is presented annually to an outstanding choral director with fewer than six years of teaching experience.

Fry, head choir director at Medlin Middle School, earned the Choral Director of Distinction Award which is presented annually to an outstanding veteran choir director.

“Northwest ISD and the NISD Fine Arts Department are very proud of these top educators and very appreciative of their dedication and devotion to the students of Northwest ISD,” said NISD Executive Director of Fine Arts Kevin Lacefield. “Congratulations Ashley and Emily!”
